Dating, can be a very tricky thing. When you are dating what is your purpose for dating? Is it to find a mate or just for fun?
Yesterday after class, me and older lady had a conversation about dating and we pretty much had the same point of view. I haven't had a date in.......it's been so long I can't really remember. I don't date for several reasons, but one reason that's high on the priority list is that I will not date anyone that is not outwardly expressing or showing their love for Christ.
Some may ask well how do you know if they are saved or if they are professing Christ? Well I know in 2 ways: 1st being: you will know them by the fruit they bear; 2nd I will blatantly ask what church do you attend, most are equipped with a name... O' I go to St John Missionary blah, blah (anyone can name a church), my response oh really what is your pastors name (by chance they may even know the pastors name b/c they have visited the church once or twice), heres the killer dealer: so what days are your services there....here goes the deer in head light look: his response- well you know I can't really make it during the week, but Sunday service starts at 11am, hahaha Everybody goes to church on Sunday's b/c that's the proper thing to do, but a church strength is built off how many attend bible study and prayer. At this point any futher talk about a date with that individaul is gone, you ask why? Because, I honestly date for a potential soulmate not for fun, I can go on a date for fun with a friend (female or male).
When I'm dating someone I ask myself and God is this who I'm supposed to be with, is this person going to respect my values, my morals, my standards and the God I serve, are we equally yoked? Some don't agree with that but I do this b/c I know me!!!! Dating opens the door for so many things good and bad, Touch not Taste not Handle not and I'm going to leave that right there.
Until next time my Fathers' children.....
