D’light for Desires

I have been studying a particular verse lately that of course has lead me to other verses, but the 2 that have caused me to ponder are the following:

Psalms 37: 4 reads: Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart;
Matthew 6:33 reads: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you;

Yes, these are 2 very familiar scriptures and most people could probably quote them in their sleep, but do we really understand the fullness of these scriptures? First thing I noticed is, both are contingently, I have to do a particular thing in which are quite synonymous and then I will receive something or be rewarded.

Delight- Joy, great enjoyment and pleasure
Seek- Search, Strive, Ask, head toward or Attempt
Hummm…. Seems pretty easy, not a hard request, a piece a cake STOP right there!

Yet, those are simple and what are perceived to be effortless demands but are we actually living up to those tasks? Do we really get Joy out of serving the Lord or do you complain about how many services your church have or how long the service last? Does being in the presence of the Lord bring you great enjoyment or do we complain when God wakes us up in the middle of the night to just simply talk to him or to meditate on his word do you enjoy missing those couple hours of sleep b/c you really do have to wake up in like 2 hrs so you force yourself to go back to sleep? Is there pleasure when you are having a discussion with a friend/associate/someone you just met and you are talking about a great movie that you wish to see or a book that you have read or just plain ole gossiping but God redirect your mind and wants you to talk about his goodness, and his mercy and where he has brought you from or what he has done for you and you are a bit perplexed b/c this is not the appropriate setting or the right time to discuss Him, REALLY does this give you great pleasure?

Just a FYI:::: All the aforementioned things should be a DELIGHT especially when you are SEEKING Him, SEARCHING for Him, ASKING things of Him, HEADING towards His Kingdom, and ATTEMPTING to be just like Him. Once all those things are fulfilled then relationships can be established or restored, doors can be open, favor will be shown, dreams begin to come true, passions become reality, health is refurbished, new hearts created, minds are renewed I could list thing after thing but most importantly Eternal life starts.

Just a few things for you to ponder my Fathers’ children.
